Luke-Muratore

Hello!

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am a computer science major from Smithtown, NY.

More About Me

I'm a computer science major at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a strong interest in being a software engineer upon graduation. I pride myself on being an enthusiastic team player and quick learner. I am a junior alumni of the Business, Society and Economy Scholars program and a member of the QUEST Honors program, where each semester I use product management tools and data science to help provide recommendations to real-world companies. My interests include running, hiking, and anything outdoors with my friends.

Outside of my normal classwork, I am a Teaching Assistant for the class CMSC330: Organization of Programming Languages, where I help teach students the paradigms of object-oriented, functional, and memory-safe systems programming through Ruby, OCaml, and Rust respectively. I also work as a software engineer for the student organization Hack4Impact, where I help develop software for nonprofit organizations in the DC area, and am involved in the organizations of Sigma Phi Delta, a social-professional engineering fraternity, and Preventing Sexual Assault, an organization dedicated to spreading awareness and implementing action on the topic of sexual assault at UMD.

Last summer, I worked at Capital One as a Software Engineer Intern, where I worked on developing an invoice management system using React Javascript and AWS tools. I am happy to be working as a software engineer intern at Bloomberg in the summer of 2023 and Palantir in the fall of 2023! For more information on my experiences, check below!
